Andiron
Houston, Texas
To develop the design for the 4500 square foot Andiron the team drew inspiration from the historic 1920s building that housed the former Star Engraving Factory and the rich history of the River Oaks neighborhood. The design for Andiron incorporated elements such as the intricate parquet flooring reminiscent of nearby opulent oil rush mansions, as well as the client’s strong preference for a flame-kissed aesthetic. Douglas fir, charred and wire brushed, adorns the walls not only for its visual appeal but also for its remarkable acoustic properties. The space is further adorned with authentic copper accents, plush copper velvets, verdigris metal panels, smoky marbles, and features an open kitchen with live flames, all contributing to the narrative of the space.
