At the inception of Allelo, the space formerly housed Annata and Alto Mare, two cherished eateries in St. Petersburg. The objective was to merge these two establishments into a singular space that would captivate patrons even more. Allelo’s culinary concept draws inspiration from the diverse regions surrounding the Mediterranean and Aegean Seas, offering a wide array of cuisines. Its name, derived from “allelomimesis,” signifies the phenomenon of collective gatherings, akin to birds forming a flock. This notion of communal gathering permeates the menu, with dishes intended for sharing among friends. Annette Gloomis, the artist behind the 16′ x 8′ mural adorning the space, adds to Allelo’s distinctive ambiance.
